As we approach 2006, foremost in our minds must be that the
Georgia General Assembly’s annual session begins on the
2nd Monday in January, January 10, 2006, and runs for 40 Legislative
days. Sessions normally end in mid to late March, depending on
the number of recess days. Library Day, which is our greatest
opportunity to show our solidarity, is Tuesday, January 24, 2006
and is an all day event. Media specialists throughout the state
are urged to invite their legislators to visit their schools
and media centers.
