GLMA Update – Forsyth County Spring 2007
As a group, led by our central office liaison, Michael Satterfield,
Forsyth County is in the process of writing some Administrative
Procedures for Media Programs since there are none in
place at the present time. One of the major changes incorporated
into these procedures is the addition of actual media specialists
within the county school system included on the county school
system’s System Media/Technology Committee.
The document would also include important items such as material
selection criteria, instructional software acquisition/installation/inventory,
consideration of gifts of instructional & media center materials,
use of non-school owned instructional & media center materials,
weeding, and copyright law.
Our district has utilized NetTrekker as the
homepage that students and staff see when they log onto the Internet.
This ensures that our Acceptable Use Policy for computers is
followed by all students while doing research on the Internet.
