North Central District Meeting
The second North Central District Media Meeting was held on
October 12th, 2006 at Teasley Middle School in Canton, GA. Kris
Woods, media specialist at Teasley Middle and the State Middle
School Exemplary Media Program winner, hosted the Fall meeting.
The media specialists from the Cherokee County School District
provided morning munchies and a salad bar luncheon for all attendees.
Teasley Middle School parent volunteers served the luncheon.
The meeting featured Judy Serretilla from the State Department
of Education who shared the latest news regarding media matters
in Georgia as well as information from SACS/CASI and flexible
scheduling information. Kris Woods presented components of her
exemplary media program as well as handouts for all. Susan Grigsby
from Pickens County offered an entertaining and informative presentation
on The Big 6 Research method which included homemade cookies.
A Best Practices session by level (Elementary, Middle and High)
ended the day’s activities.
