Leap Pad by Pam Nutt

Moore Elementary School in Griffin, GA. has been awarded an Ecolab Grant for 2600 dollars to purchase LeapPad machines to be used in Kindergarten. These machines will be able to help students with word recognition, pronunciation, and spelling. Students will be able to use the tools independently or in a group setting. Each year, EcoLab sends out invitations to 180 schools to participate. This year, Ecolab gave out over 30,000 dollars in awards. Schools in Henry, Fayette, Spalding, Butts and several other surrounding counties were eligible.

The grant asks what the specific need is, how you are going to impact the need, and what evaluation will be used at the end of the grant to show how the materials supported the curriculum.

Not only did Moore receive the Ecolab Grant, but also a matching grant from the LeapPad Company. The LeapPad Company gives their matching grant out four times a year. Anyone wishing to obtain a grant from LeapPad should check their website at: www.leappadschoolhouse.com

These tools will help Moore to develop strong readers in kindergarten and diagnose reading difficulties early on.
