NewsLeader - September 2004

From the Editor
( conitued from cover )

As I sit in this room full of truth and imagination, I must announce that this is the last Media NewsLeader I will be able to edit for now. It is time for a new voice to take my place and grow this publication. During my tenure I have watched The Media NewsLeader go from the printed page to the online format. Believe me when I tell you the folks at Zenith have made this job quite easy! I no longer print out page after page, store the publication on a zip disk, take the disk to the printer, spend time explaining changes or formatting issues, then have the printer send the paper copies over to the GLMA office for labeling and mailing. Now I just create the whole thing in a series of Word documents, send them over to Zenith via email, and a few days later the issue is up and running. It is a small demand for your time but a rewarding one. Where else are you able to stand on your soapbox four times a year and share what’s on your mind? What better way for you to find out what’s going on in the world of Georgia Library Media Association and the library world at large? You get to meet (electronically, anyway) some great folks who are truly passionate about this profession, too!

If you want to know more about the Media NewsLeader, GLMA, or just want to comment on articles in this issue, please feel free to get in touch with me. I look forward to hearing from the next editor! Email: skg0577@fc.dekalb.k12.ga.us
