Have you invited your legislator in for a visit this year? The
2004 legislative session will begin Monday, January 12th, and
we are still asking for the restoration of media funds.
Get to know your legislator (either the one in your school’s
district or the one in your residential district) and make sure
your legislator knows you. Invite him/her to your school’s
media center to witness first-hand what a viable, vibrant classroom
your media center is. Make sure your shelves are empty (because
you’re constantly weeding outdated, irrelevant materials),
but your center is full of people and activities.
