Applying for a Grant
By Betsy Razza

GLMA Mini Grants are available for the 2004-2005 school year. You can find the application on the GLMA Web site under Awards and Grants. This is a great opportunity to fund an idea that will help you have an exemplary program in your media center. This is one of the easiest grant applications that you will ever find. The application is only one and a half pages long. Grants are judged on six criteria:

Quality
Innovativeness
Clear objective
Benefit of project to students
Budget
Evaluation plan.

Three grants will be awarded in the amount of $300 - $500. The deadline for submitting the application is May 15, 2004.

In order to apply for one of the grants you must be a current GLMA member and have been a GLMA member last year as well. Grant recipients must agree to participate in a concurrent workshop along with other grant recipients at a COMO convention to share the merits of their projects.
