Congratulations to 2003 District 3 Library Media Specialist of the Year, Louise B.Warren! Louise, media specialist at Beaverbrook Elementary School in Griffin, was recognized at the District 3 fall meeting and at a general session at COMO last month at Jekyll. She has served students and teachers as a media specialist for 29 years and as an educator for 32. We were proud to have her represent District 3. Information on applying for the 2004 award can be found at http://www.glma-inc.org/lmsoty_04_final.pdf.
The GLMA District 3 Fall Meeting was held at the COMO conference
on Thursday, Oct. 23, 4 p.m., Convention Center, Room 2. We had
a very special program - a demonstration of the Promethean ActivBoard
by instructional technologists at Upson-Lee South Elementary School,
the only U.S. school to have these interactive electronic whiteboards
in every classroom. We learned how ULSE teachers and students
are utilizing this latest technology to improve and enhance learning.
This was a great opportunity and we are grateful to the Upson-Lee
South educators who helped make it happen.
