Lake Blackshear Resort* is offering a special room rate of $99/night in the Lodge or the Villas. Special rates are also available in the rustic 2 bedroom cabins and the resort has camping spots for visitors. Lake Blackshear is pet friendly! There is no charge to bring your first pet. A $25 charge will apply for 2 or more pets with you during your stay. The resort offers guests a variety of activities to suit every taste; golfing, hiking, fishing, dining and swimming.

About Summer Institute

Summer Institute is GLMA’s annual continuing education event. It is a great opportunity for Georgia library media specialists to get together to work, learn, earn 1 PLU credit, and network with friends throughout the state. The Institute features a showcase display of great successful lessons and units from colleagues all around Georgia. Each year, attendees leave Summer Institute with new tools, tips, and tricks for jazzing up their programs that they can start using immediately.

Professional Learning Credit

If you will be applying for professional learning credit, please print the Prior Approval Form and have your county office sign it before coming to the Summer Institute. NOTE:  This is a two-page document and BOTH pages must be printed and completed prior to Summer Institute. Incomplete Prior Approval Forms will not be accepted.
