Since January 2010, members of the Georgia Tech Library have produced a weekly library-themed radio show on WREK-Atlanta. The show is called “Lost in the Stacks” and features interviews with Georgia Tech students, faculty, staff, and librarians. “Lost in the Stacks” is a unique approach to collaboration with academic departments, campus services, student organizations, and the Library. Current hosts Charlie Bennett and Ameet Doshi will discuss the development of the show and the challenges involved with this outreach project.
This webinar is free and open to all Georgia librarians (public, academic, school, special)!
AMEET DOSHI AND CHARLIE BENNETT
Ameet Doshi is the User Engagement librarian and Assessment coordinator at Georgia Tech library and also serves as the librarian for the School of Economics. He is passionate about working with students to improve their library experiences and collaborating with library colleagues on unique outreach and marketing initiatives. Ameet is also interested in sustainable library learning spaces and earned the LEED Accredited Professional designation. He loves championing the cause of academic libraries and especially values learning from and teaching others.
Charlie Bennett has been working at the Georgia Tech Library since 1996, starting as a student assistant in Circulation while earning bachelor’s degrees in Economics and in Science, Technology, & Culture and ending up as the desk supervisor for the night shift. He worked briefly in Massachusetts at an electronic publishing house but returned to Atlanta after one winter. He became East Commons Coordinator in August of 2006 and started thinking about learning commons, library programming, and where is the best place for comfy chairs. He is currently seeking his MLIS from Valdosta State University, and he has managed to turn his love of music and talking too much into a library-themed radio show with Ameet Doshi on WREK Atlanta.
