Region 16: Southeast GA is spreading the love of literacy and technology!

Check out how three different schools are embedding literacy and technology into their library programs!

Jennifer Marsh, media specialist at Memorial Dive Elementary School, helps students in grades K-5 celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday during Read Across America Week. Students listened to various Dr. Seuss stories and participated related learning centers.

Ware County High School's media specialist, Candice Rice, is proud of the work with Animation Club! The Ware County High School Media Center is proud to sponsor the WCHS Animation Club. "We had many students with this interest but nowhere to pursue it. Seeing this need, we started the animation club for students so they would have a forum to explore and develop this interest," explained Ms. Rice. One of the highlights of the school year was taking a field trip to Georgia Southern University to visit the Animatronics Department. The animation club has been so well received by students that the media center has purchased Wacom tablets for students to check-out ad work on their new found craft!

Kim Spivey, media specialist at Midway Elementary School, is embedding STEM into her library program!
